Google IG with themes

Realizing that I'm somewhat behind the o'mighty blogosphere on this one, but news nevertheless. I've long been a great fan of the Google IG service, which allows me to add RSS-feeds of my favorite sites and keep track of their new posts. I'm not a huge fan of RSS, as people doesn't have to visit the site that the creator has made and spent precious time making. Enough about that. Google IG comes with themes now.
I do think that customization is a good thing, and that the user should be able to make adjustments to their applications in order to make the user experience more enjoyable. However, I'm not entirely sure that themes is the way to go for Google IG. What I like about Google IG is not the bells and whistles, it's quite the contrary; I liked Google IG because of its total lack of features such as themes.
Sure enough, the themes does make the design a little easier on the eyes, but once they start adding features like this, chances are that there'll be an avalanche of other "features".
