Keeping up-to-date

Every day I go through a list of at least ten regular blogs and web sites, most of them post a new entry every day and keep their sites fairly updated. I have tried different RSS-readers and I've tried to browse every site every day, even several times a day. It's not possible! Every time there are a few sites and blogs that are omitted. So how to keep updated about what's happening?

Personally I feel that reading only RSS leaving out some of the best part, the wrapping if you like. People put time and effort into making their sites, only reading the RSS-feed does not pay the proper respect to peoples effort I feel.

Q: If you offered an RSS feed, I could read your stuff without visiting your site.
A: If you stored your groceries on the sidewalk, we could eat your food without sitting across the table from you.

I'm not going to force you to, but come sit at my table and we can have jolly good time. There is so much on this site that by its very nature will never be available in syndicated format.

I really feel like sitting at other peoples table, to share something with them. When I read a post on site, as opposed to reading from a feed of some sort, I get the story as the author intended it to be. Moreover, when I visit these sites I get the comments and chances are that I'll go visit some of the homepages of the commenters. In short; I get around.

Because of this, remembering all the blogs and sites is really important to me.

Personalized GoogleThe beauty of the Internet is that it connects the smart-ones to the not so smart ones, i.e. me. Once again the bright heads over at Google have created something that makes my day easier. Personalized Google does not only give me the excellent search engine that Google is, it also gives me the option to show my latest receieved emails in my GMail-account. More important; it helps me keep up-to-date on the latest blog posts around from blogs of my choice.

Currently I've added nine blogs and my GMail-account so that once there's a new post I simply click on the link and dine at your table. Pretty neat!
