The Messy Job of Being a Painter

People tend to express themselves in different ways according to their persona or what they think they are. The average jock in a jersey shirt and the cheerleader with her pom poms in everyones face tend to slice off a big piece of the ordinary person's cake.

At the same time there's no such thing as ordinary or normal in the world where extremes are considered daunting to comprehend in its abnormality. Yet in society, the norms of accepted art is taken in as a creative expression of the moulder of his or her works. What about those who fit outside the box, who just want to make a difference in the constraints of expressionism?

Paula Rego is an example of a Spanish painter who went from breathing in fresh air by the seaside to working contentedly in her studio workroom. She doesn't have to litsen to the chatter of high-society or take into account that someday the very canvas she lays her artistic fingers on will be hanging in a museum, awaiting public affection or in some cases rejection.

Therefore the messy job that involves a painters life is much more than slicking some red paint on those fingers and splattering some more all over ones art studio, but being able to open the doors of modern day ideas and connections that will bring one to the forefront. The mishmash of public opinion on what is art and what isn't, what is accepted and what isn't, or what can be hung up in a museum and what can't, doesn't matter to painters in the likes of Paula Rego. Their own studio is like a piece of heaven in which they can float on a cloud and end up far far away from anything that goes on on earth. They live by their own rules, and some of others.

This is reason why most of the time art is my own piece of heaven. It's like getting a magic wand for ones birthday and being allowed to do anything whatsoever with its power. It's that amazing.

Where cultural or societal constraints lie, art is what it stands;proud, strong, and ever-living.
