From bad to worse

A Fresh Taste of SocietyThrough the wonderful creation of RSS-feed I get the latest news from a whole variety of news papers, among them BBC. Every hour on the hour I get a news update, and what I see is fairly depressing. I have done my fair share of research on sensationalism through the previous year and I never stop getting amazed by everything that's written in order to create headlines. Seth Godin however focuses on quite the opposite in his last post, he states that most things in life are actually quite good, positive news like "the number of armed conflicts in the world has gone down by 40%" is always a good read.

So how come we never hear about these good news? The earlier mentioned RSS-feed from, among others, BBC seem to never contain such good news, they always focus on the latest Iraq crisis, latest flu warning, latest hurricane, latest... The list seem endless.

I would really like to read a paper with strictly good news, nothing else than good news. Good news that would make one smile and maybe even light ones day. The closest I get to good news of this kind are the different blogs that I read. So I guess you won't be seeing me with a newspaper stuck under my arm anytime soon, nor subscribing to any news feeds.
