But baby it’s cold outside

- I really can't stay
- But baby it’s cold outside

Isn’t that the truth? Today I woke up to a world of 20 degrees outside; 20 cold degrees. Fair enough I thought, 20 degrees is what we used to have at home in Norway as well, thus on the inside. 20 degrees is a good summer in Norway, at least where I’m from.

- I've got to go away
- But baby it's cold outside

When I first came to Dar es Salaam and Tanzania, I brought with me two sweaters with long sleeves. I brought them back to Norway last month. There’s simply no use for long sleeves here.

- This evening has been so very nice
- I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice

By the time I entered my car it was 23 degrees outside; the temperature of a good summer in the southern parts of Norway.

- My mother will start to worry!
- Beautiful, what's your hurry?

I enter my homeroom and see two of my classmates wearing thick woolen sweaters; long sleeved; complaining about it being “bloody freezing” outside.
