And the World Just Watches….

It is interesting to note how people just sit on the sidelines and watch the world go by them. That happens often in this African country where you are sure to find someone watching you as you cross the street or purchase an ice-cream cone in a trendy hang.

The issue comes when sitting on the sidelines is not very favourable to taking a stand. You either make a change or you don't. That's just the way things are when society is concerned. When it comes to the Bosnian war of 1992-1995, much was said, cameras were rolling, photos were taken, people knew that there was a buzz in southeastern Europe.

Yet no one did anything. This, is what make me flinch when I begin to stop dead in my tracks and watch the world go by me. Life's too precious to give it away. What scares me is knowing that there's something stirring up in the world and not even lifting a finger when I have every right to. Freedom of expression has its costs. I just don't want to be the one to pay them.
